We're two thirds of the way into 2008, and in a month's time will step into the final, critical quarter of the year.
There are lots of good things happening at Y&R. We've got traction in new business and lots in the pipeline.
With Tony Granger in place, our global creative community is taking shape. We've taken a good hard look at the work we're doing. We have direction. We've got great new talent. We're driving hard and in the months to come, we'll begin to see the difference.
There is also no ignoring the economic pressures that many clients are feeling. We need to view this as an opportunity to show our clients that it is precisely the right moment to make their marketing work for their brands. We need to show what we can do to help them through tougher times. It is, in fact, the perfect time to consolidate our existing relationships and win the brands we don't have.
In this issue, we've got work from all of our regions. With the world still glued to the Olympics, we thought it timely to show an Olympics spot from London, as well as a Y&R Indonesia employee who was part of the global torch bearing. Another point of pride for us, Mechelle Lewis, who is part of the U.S. Olympic Track & Field team, was an account exec at Y&RNY, working on Xerox, before she dedicated herself to qualifying for the Olympics. She runs this Thursday in the second leg of the 4X100m relay preliminaries!
Also in this issue, some really innovative ideas from India and Israel. Beautiful print from Latin America. A survey of how we are tackling some of the world's toughest issues for our clients and for important pro bono causes.
As we head into September, we've got to stay on our game. Let's take these last few months and make a real positive difference for the year.
